Update: Sir William Beveridge Foundation
“I am sure that we will all want to thank Baroness Uddin for her role in setting up the support fund…”
Those were the exact words from Kitty Ussher, the Economic Secretary for HM Treasury, praising Baroness Uddin for helping set up the fund with Sir William Beveridge Foundation during the Wesminster Debate on 18th July 2007. It was supposed to help the victims of the First Solution disaster.
Well guess what, as I have stated before Baroness Uddin is too busy with other important issues that she has not put any focus on this at all, apart from helping set it up and getting deep praises from her peers of course. One of her other more important activities was promoting Yoga and Swami’s from India!!!
The fund so far raised by Sir William Beveridge Foundation stand at a staggering ZERO balance. It is not because of a shortage of donations, rather the opposite. Afterall both George Galloway and Kitty Ussher pledged to make donations to the funds as well as urging others to do the same. The actual reason the funds stand at ZERO is because the foundation is NOT ACCEPTING any donations. The foundation is worried that if a Rescue Deal is secured such as the one being proposed by Directors of First Solution Branches then the foundation will find itself with a huge bank charges bill after returning the donations back to the donators.
Why doesn’t the foundation take all the donations being given. Also, where is Baroness Uddin in this moment of need. Quick to help set up the foundation and get plaudits for that but how about addressing the need to raise funds and pay some of the victims.

There a lot of self promoting people in our community. BPU was a close associates of Bashon and False Mahmuuuut. She even took Bashon with her to BD to meet with Kaleda Zia and Hasina. Maybe she was feelign guilty and was trying to hide her close association with Bashon et al. at that point in time.

Also, very two faced of Galloway to point out that the fund has raised ZERO pounds and not mention the reasons but rather implying no one is willing to put any money into it!
